France and Marseille presentes its candidature on the 6th World Water Forum stating its ambition in going through the histroy of forum, that will bring solutions to water based on opnness and exchange, gathering policy makers, big corporations and non-governmental organisation once in every three years.
The candidature also recongnized that water issues are political in nature and require an adopted approach to make further progress in global, regional national and local levels to promote and design solutions for water at every level stretching across the global.
The goal of the 6 th World Water Forum is to focus on challenges that world faces and to bring water high on all political Agendas as there is no sustainable development without solving water issues.
Everywhere on the planet, for everyone, the Right to Water was recognized by 189 States in UN, be guaranteed and implemented.
Women's contribution for World Water and Sanitary facilities were discussed at the forum and Sri Lankan delegation participated a discussion round on Community Water Supply Projects.
Minister of Water Supply and Drainage and Chief Government Whip Dinesh Gunawardene participated 6th World Water Forum in France along with a delegation.
