A special telephone booth project has been introduced by government for tourists to receive information on Sri Lanka in Sinhala, Tamil, English, German, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, and Russian and Italian languages with video tapes.
The digital tourism telephone booths were introduced by Intel- network Pvt. Ltd in collaboration with Tourism Promotional Bureau to access the information of country easily.
The first telephone booth installed in BIA was declared opened by Civil Aviation Minister, Piyankara Jayaratne on last 19th.
These special telephone booths are to install in places where tourists are teemed with, especially in shopping complexes, business centers, tourists’ information centers and selected areas for tourists.
