The compensations were awarded to the families of crocadile victims who lost their lives due to crocodile attacks under the patronage of S.M. Chandrasena, Minister of Agrarian services and Wildlife.During the past few months several lives were claimed by crocodile attacks including the life of 18 year old school girl dragged away by human-eating crocodile in river Nilwala, Matara.
Among the participants at the compensation awarding occasion were Secretary of Wildlife Ministry, Udeni Wickramasinghe, Deputy Director of Livestock Management Unit,Wildlife, Tharaka Prasad, Provincial Councilor, Southern Province, D.W. Prathapasinghe, Chairman of Local Government, Malimbada and many Environmentalists.
