Buddha Rashmi Vesak Zone in Gangarama Temple, the largest Vesak Zone organized by Presidential Secretariat and Organizers of Gangarama Temple, Colombo was launched in Sri Lanka on full Moon Vesak Poya Day. The Vesak Zone was held from 05th to 12th with millions of colorful illuminations, decorations, Bhakthi Gee, Vesak Pandols in the capital of Colombo. The ‘Dansala’ organized in Temple Trees offered delicious meals to public generously who came to Colombo to see splendour in Vesak from every nook and corner of the country.
In the last day of Vesak Zone (12), MP, Namal Rajapaksa and Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa placed the relic casket of Gangarama Temple in ‘Seema Malakaya’ and opened the Vesak Zone after switching on the lights.
Asian Mirror captured some of the significant events in Vesak Zone and seen here Namal Rajapaksa is carrying the relic casket of Gangarama while Defence Secretary offering flowers to sacred relic casket surrounded by red-lotus flower baskets. They both did not forget to inspect the way food is being prepared for ‘dansal’ and also to taste the food served in ‘Dansala’.
