Thalassemia patients to get self infusion device

alt The Thalassemia patients are to provide with self infusion device and the distribution would be carried out by First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa at Sri Lanka Naval Head Quarters today (16th)

The device was manufactured by Navy itself on a low budget and will be distributed in areas where LTTE Cadre were found. It is said that the device is expensive in Sri Lanka than other countries.

Flight from Pakistan diverted in UK airspace

Police arrested two men Friday on suspicion of endangering an aircraft after The Flight PK709, from Pakistan to the London, was diverted to Stansted Airport, outside of London. The plane was escorted by a military fighter jet as it was diverted from northwestern England's Manchester Airport to Stansted. Following the landing, two men were arrested.

80% of School Uniform Material to supply by local manufacurers

Cabinet has approved the short term recommendation made by Hon. Ratnasiri Wickramanayake, Senior Minister for Good Governance and Infrastructure, and the Chairman of the Ministerial Committee appointed for the purpose, to accord the opportunity to supply 80% of the school uniform material requirements for 2014 to local manufacturers.
