Sri Lanka to host Asian Junior Athletics Championships

Ministry of Sports says 15th Asian Junior Track and Field Championships Meet will be held in Sri Lanka as scheduled from June 9th to 12th as Asian Athletics Association (AAA) has granted permission officially on 22nd to host it in Sri Lanka.

The 15th Junior Athletics Championships was cancelled on May 21st by Secretary of AAA. However, on the instructions of Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage, President of the Athletics Association, Major General Daya Ratnayake and President of the Olympic Committee Hemasiri Fernando presented the facts before AAA.

Following the explanations, Secretary of Athletics Association Maurice R.Nicholas gave the green light to hold the 15th Junior Athletics Championships 2012 in Sri Lanka.
