Country’s National Carrier, Sri Lankan Airlines was able to receive the membership of One-World Airline Association, the one of the Premier Airline Services in the World.
Awarding of prestigious one-world membership for Sri Lankan Airlines was declared at the International Airline Association – 2012, Summit, held in Beijing, China. During the summit it was proposed to present One-World membership to Sri Lankan Airlines considering the first class facilities and services provided by the airline. The Beijing Summit was represented by Chairman, Nishantha Wickramasinghe and CEO, Kapila Chandrasena of Sri Lankan Airlines.
After an evaluation, it was decided to offer permanent membership of One-World to Sri Lankan Airlines and it was officially presented on 15th in Colombo.
