The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Galle Division, Hector Dharmasiri was interdicted from service today (06) by IGP, following charges of corruption against him in an ongoing court case filed by Bribery commissioner, the police media spokesman said.
The Bribery Commission has filed charges against him for having abused his position to engage police personnel to construct a house when he was serving as Senior Superintendent of Police, Gampha Division.
According to charges, DIG had misused the service of four Civil Defence Force personnel and a Police Constable to erect a house.
