A fire had erupted in Geological Survey and Mine Bureau office in Badulla today (15) at around 1.30 am.
The fire which destroyed documents, computers and other office equipment has extinguished by Fire Brigade of Badulla Municipal Council and Badulla Police.
The office is handling the tasks of issuing mining permits, sand transportation permits, conducting geological surveys and gemming in Badulla and Nuwara Eliya areas in addition to the raids carried out.
Cause for fire is yet to be found.
