Rehabilitated ex-LTTE combatants get livelihood loans

altLoans with a maximum limit of Rs.250,000 administered through State Banks, Bank of Ceylon, People’s Bank and National Savings Bank will be granted for ex-LTTE rehabilitated combatants with 4% interest rate to be recovered in 10

years to start up their livelihoods, Minister of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms said.
 
The loans will be granted to start a self-employment, small industries, agricultural projects and other vocational training programmes while only the interest is required to be repaid during the first year, Minister Chandrasiri Gajadheera said.
 
Over 1200  rehabilitated ex-LTTE cadres re-integrated into the society  will be symbolically received the loan facility on July 30th at a ceremony held under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees.
