IMF assures more support to Sri Lanka

altUpdate: The Resident Representative of International Monetary Fund (IMF) Koshy Mathai says following the successful conclusion of granting US$ 2.6 billion loan to Sri Lanka on 23rd in Colombo that  IMF would continue to support Sri Lanka to achieve its  future goals.

 
The Executive Board of International Monetary Fund (IMF)  has approved  an immediate disbursement of US$ 415 million to Sri Lanka on Friday after reviewing the economic performance under the Stand-by Arrangement (SBA). 
 
With the final tranche of SBA approved on 24th July 2009, the global lender has disbursed US$ 2.49 billion to Sri Lanka.
 
Sri Lanka government has implemented macro-economic policy adjustments to stabilize international reserves, the Deputy Managing Director and Acting Chair Naoyuji Shinohara has said, approving the final portion.
