The children’s home in Mannar, modernized at a cost of Rs.07 million with the financial assistance of Malaysian Tamil diaspora was declared opened by Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
The project which carried out on the directives of Deputy High Commissioner in Malaysia, Major General Udaya Perera is consisted of a two-storied building and a children’s park.
Defence Secretary explained the development initiatives made by government for internally displaced people in North and East during the humanitarian operation while locals in Malaysia has praised the development activities carried out by government for the benefit of displaced people.
