A person who had bitten off the ear of a police constable attached to the Balangoda police, was arrested, the Police Media Spokesman SP Ajith Rohana stated.
The incident had taken place at Balangoda SLTB bus depot last evening when suspect had fallen on to the constable and had bitten his ear separating a piece.
The police constable was admitted to Balangoda hospital with bleeding injuries and suspect was taken into police custody. Investigations have revealed that suspects was a mentally retarded person.
