Public Health Inspectors’ Association (PHIA) says the Circular issued to the State Institution by President Secretary, Lalith Weeratunge, directing State bodies to submit a report on ‘mosquito breeding centers in respective institutions, has been discarded by authorities.
According to the Circular issued, all Government Institutions should clean the premises weekly and if mosquito breeding places are found, monthly report of them be sent to relevant PHI’s offices, the Secretary of PHIA, Senerath Bandara said.
However, that only a few State Institutions have followed the instructions provided in the Circular, he added.
