China had long standing relationships with Sri Lanka since 206 BC – Wu Jianghao

alt New Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Wu Jianghao says that China and Sri Lanka has long standing diplomatic relationships as well as social, cultural, economic and religious ties since 206 BC.

Minister of Petroleum Industry, Susil Premajayantha has assured the Chinese Ambassador that the maximum support would be extended to the new Ambassador to strengthened the relationships further.

New Chinese Ambassador paid a courtesy call on Petroleum Minister Susil Premajayantha at the Ministry on Friday (10) and Minister warmly welcomed the new Ambassador on behalf of Sri Lanka Government.

Monks Protest in Borella

Army colony to be established in Jaffna

Plans are underway to establish a new Army colony in Jaffna peninsula, says Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya. The General made a statement to a Government news agency saying that only three camps would be kept in Jaffna, and the rest of the camps would be relocated in the Army colony.
