Minister of Transport Kumara Welgama states that Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) is have only 4746 buses out of 7662 that are in running conditions.
Although Rs.93 billion was expected from the sale of unsuitable fleet, only Rs.91 million has been earned, Minister said at a media briefing held in SLTB head office recently.
The running span of a SLTB bus is only 10 years and new buses were ordered from an Indian company on lease, he said.
