The Department of Elections said that Rs 7 million has been allocated for the Police Headquarters to be used for the removal of Election posters and cut-out in the respective areas where elections are to be held.
These allocations will also be utilized for Police officers on duty in polling centres in the relevant areas and during the Provincial Council election.
Meanwhile a sum of Rs 1 million is allocated for removing posters, the Elections Department added.
Over 20,000 police officers are to be deployed for election purposes, Senior DIG Gamini Nawaratne said.
