Ministry of Environment states any individual could examine the timber accounts of Timber Corporation (TC) to find whether TC has sold timber according to the government specifications and standards.
Ministry emphasized that not a single tree has cut down in Radavi Bandi Ela Project in Maduru Oya except those marked under proper procedure while that timber has not been sold in any illegal manner.
TC has removed timber even when Mahaweli Project was implemented and also the trees were cut down by TC when projects such as Rambakan Oya, Weli Oya, Moragahakanda and Sugala Devi tank in Moneragala were implemented in recent times, Ministry noted.
