Seychelles President James Alix arrived in Colombo

Update: The third President of the Republic of Seychelles, James Alix Michel, arrived Sri Lanka for a three day official visit on an invitation of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, External Affairs Ministry sources said.

The Republic of Seychelles which commenced diplomatic relations with Sri Lanka recently has a 451 square km land with 84,00 population while their per capita income stands at US$ 11,170. Country gained the Independence from Great Britain in 1976. Majority of Seychelles people are Catholics and is a multi-racial country.

It is expected that visit would boost trade and bilateral relations.

Sabaragamuwa Province has decided to ban the use of rejiform boxes and lunch sheets for wrapping food as careless disposal of lunch boxes to the environment have created mosquito breeding centers with the collection of rainy water inside the refuse.
