Minister of Transport Kumara Welgama states the payment of Rs.10,100 granted by State Treasury will be credited to the bank accounts of CTB employees on 08th of every month while the balance payment of salary will be paid through the income earned by CTB.
In previous occasions, Treasury issued a cheque to the value of Rs.10,100 directly to the CTB where it takes few days to cash the cheque causing unwanted delays, as a result measures were taken to transfer the funds directly to the accounts of respective workers, Minister explained.
Minister accepted the fact that CTB employees are not receiving their wages on time as salary is being provided with combined funds of Treasury and income of CTB, he noted.
