Minister of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development Douglas Devananda states the time that Tamils were treated as minority has come to an end.
Minister made this comment during the opening ceremony of new Provincial Council building in Chavakachcheri, constructed by Local Government and Provincial Council Ministry.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister pointed out that government has launched a number of development programmes for Northern Province. Many more buildings are being constructed for Provincial Councils while some of them have already opened by now.
Accordingly government is spending a great quantity of funds for the development work in a Northern areas in a speedy manner than on the development work in other areas of the island but selfish politicians in opposition parties keep on
criticizing the development activities of government to mislead people, Minister said.
People should not be misled by such politicians and be aware of them and their motives, he further said.
