IOC does not pay government taxes – Lakshman Yapa

  • PDF

altDeputy Minister of Economic Development Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said that fuel stations of Lanka Indian Oil Company (IOC) do not pay taxes to the government under the  Agreement signed between Board of Investment (BOI) and IOC in 2010.

IOC has exempted from taxes for the period commencing from 2002 to 2013 and that there is no necessity to take action against IOC for evading taxes, Minister pointed out. Minister made this observation in response to a query posed by Anura Kumara Dissanayake (DNA) in parliament recently.
