The winner of the first free Presidential election in Egypt, Mohammed Morsi took his oath as county's first free elected President before Egypt’s Supreme Constitutional Court today (30). The people’s elected President is the first ever free elected Islamist leader in Arab world.
Morsi was sworn in as country’s fifth President and planned to deliver his inauguration speech at Cairo University.
The 60-year-old American trained engineer had also taken a symbolic oath yesterday(29) in Tahrir Square in Cairo amidst
thousands of people, Islamist supporters and his Muslim Brotherhood Party’s supporters.
The handover ceremony is hosted by nation’s military Generals, who controlled Egypt since former President Hosni Mubarak’s ousted in last year.
