Popular singer Rookantha Goonatillake has sung a tribute song for Pandit W.D. Amaradeva.

The lyrics of the song is by Kelum Srimal and the music is by Goonatillake.

Amaradeva, considered to be the doyen of Sri Lankan music, passed away on November 3.

Amaradeva and Goonatillake once did a joint performance at Peradeniya University two decades ago. The concert, "Vasanthaye Aga" became a landmark event at that time. Amaradeva is known as an artiste who encouraged the young talents.
