Sumithra Rahubadda's 'Kandak Sema' Movie To Be Screened Soon

Film 'Kandak Sema' which is based on award-winning novel of veteran novelist Sumithra Rahubaddha titled 'Kandak Sema' is scheduled to be screened at the end of this year.

The story revolves around a young girl named Nupa who decides to marry an elderly Japanese man pressured by the financial insecurities. After marrying him Nupa moves to Niigatha, Japan and fees lost, unable to understand the culture, society and language. However, with a great effort she adopts to the system of Japan. Meanwhile she get involved with Sumal, a Sri Lankan. Nupa, Sumal and Masaya entangled in a web of problems.

Nupa, the main character is played by Nirosha Perera. Cyril Wickramage, Chandani Seneviratna, Kaushalya Fernando, Bimal Jayakody, Priyankara Ratnayaka, Veena Jayakody and Wasantha Kotuwella play the other roles. Kobayashi Ayako who portrayed the role of ‘Oshin’ also stars in the movie. The music direction is by Suresh Maliyedda and cameramanship is by Ruwan Costa. The script is by Sumithra Rahubaddha while the co-direction is by Thao Nashimoto and the direction is by Ashoka Athauda Hettige. 

The film revolves around all four seasons and captured the beauty of Japan.
