Jayavi Lanka To Present Scholarships To 2000 Students Of Galle District

Two thousand students from Galle District, who have completed their school education, will benefit from the scholarships awarded by the Jayavi Lanka Foundation. The scholarships will be awarded tomorrow at a ceremony that will be held at 9am at Galle New Town Hall. A concept of Galle District Parliamentarian Manusha Nanayakara, the foundation has been awarding scholarships for the past 10 years.

The students who have left school after GCE A\L or GCE O\L examinations are selected according to 12 different subject groups to be awarded scholarships.

Accordingly, scholarships are awarded for further studies in traditional arts, Western music, beauty culture, cookery and hotel management, photography, sewing and patchwork, leadership and personality development, astrology, journalism and Western dancing.

 

In addition to that, Prof. Carlo Fonseka, Prof. Bandusena Gunasekera, lyricist Rathna Sri Wijesinghe and Astrologer Sumanadasa Abeygoonewardene will be felicitated at the ceremony.
