A popular politician from the Uva Province ended up in some difficulties when some pictures of him with a young actress circulated on social media. The pictures were shared by the actress on her Facebook page.

The politician, who is married, made an effort in damage control by saying the pictures were fake.

Taking a further step, a group of associates of the politician recorded a statement by the actress saying the whole incident was the doing of an opponent. This statement was recorded at the car park of a popular restaurant in Rajagiriya.

However, one person who knew of the true incident regarding the recording of the statement has given a new breath to the story.
