President Sirisena says that when he attended a religious ceremony, a monk told him that all politicians go to hell and politicians who stayed in politics too long rot in hell longer than the politicians who served short term. Hence, he said that he has no expectations to stay in politics much longer.

“Even though some section of the society understood the process jointly carried out by two major political parties to develop the country while building national reconciliation, in contrary to that some are trying to spread hatred in the country”, said President Maithripala Sirisena at a public event.
