TV Derana, on Friday night, took care to warn the viewers before telecasting the video of a violent beating of a woman by two men, during its news telecast.

It issued a warning before the video was shown, advising parents to remove children from the TV screen. Others who did not want to see it should also move away, the warning said.

Furthermore, the warning was shown on screen and announced aloud for a duration of few seconds, giving a reasonable time for parents and others to heed the warning.
