The space object 'WT1190F' will be destroyed by the 'Earth's Gravitational Force', preventing any damage being caused to the planet, a local website reported shortly before the expected impact.

The news, reported on Neth FM, was partly correct in the fact that the expected impact did not happen.

However, the scientific explanation given for the destruction of WT1990F is utterly false.

The sphere of influence of earth's gravity extends quite far from where the space debris usually lie. If gravity destroys space objects, no satellite can navigate around the Earth. It is not the Earth's gravity, but the atmosphere, that could destroy any matter that approaches the Earth.
