There were several incorrect statements in an article on the "Kuveni Palace" published in the Daily News on December 14.

The news item says "... according to the chronicles,Prince Vijaya landed in the island from Kudiramale point located adjoining the Wilpattu National Park.", which is wrong.

There is no reference in chronicles stating that Vijaya landed from Kudiramale.

Also, the so called Kuveni Palace ruins belong most probably to a building of middle (?) Anuradhapura Period, which could not have been associated with the story of Kuveni.
