Election Survey Network Predicts Hung Parliament

The upcoming general election is likely to elect a hung parliament with the United National Party becoming the largest single party in parliament, Election Survey Network, Sri Lanka, said today.
 
According to a survey done by the Election Survey Network, the UNP is likely to win between 98-100 votes while the UPFA will win 94-96 seats. The survey also found the JVP winning 14-15 seats and the TNA slightly overtaking them with 16-17 seats.
 
The survey finds UNP winning Colombo with 10 seats. UPFA will come second with seven seats and the JVP will win two seats, the survey added. Meanwhile, the UPFA will win in Gampaha District, the survey predicted.
 
Furthermore, the UPFA will win the Kurunegala District with eight seats and the UNP will win six, the survey said. The JVP will take the remaining seat, the ENS survey also said. Meanwhile, UPFA will win former President Rajapaksa’s home district of Hambantota, the survey predicted.
 
Meanwhile, TNA will win four seats in Jaffna while UNP and UPFA will win two and one respectively, the survey said.
