Upali Kodikara Arrested For Obstructing Police Duty

UPFA Western Provincial Council Member Upali Kodikara was arrested by Cinnamon Gardens Police for obstructing police duty, a short while ago.

Kodikara had struggled with a policeman on duty at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges at BMICH on October 16 when he was stopped from entering the commission premises.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived at the commission to give a statement on the default of payment due to the ITN for Presidential Election advertisements.

Kodikara had arrived with the former President. He is a strong supporter of Rajapaksa.
