Gampaha Magistrate Tikiri K. Jayathilake today ordered a ban on the sale, transaction or alienation of a land and a building in Oruthota, previously used as an election office by former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa.

The order was given on the Gampaha Lands Commissioner following a request made by the police Financial Crimes Investigations Division.

The FCID informed the court that the land had been brought by the D.A. Rajapaksa Foundation.
