Shiranthi Rajapaksa Requests Another Date From PRECIFAC To Give Statement

Former first lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, who was summoned to appear before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC), has requested for another date to appear before the commission.

Her legal representative informed the Commission’s officials of her request.

She was summoned to record a statement regarding an incident where a house belonging to the National Housing Development Authority was handed over to her Media Coordinating Secretary at less than the stipulated price.

It has been revealed that a house valued at a price of Rs. 5.5 million was offered to her coordinating secretary for Rs.500,000.

Wimal Weerawansa was the then Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities.
