JVP To Mobilize Youth To 'Fight For Rights'

February 23, 2016

The JVP will mobilize a group of youth who fight for their rights, JVPMP and Socialist Youth Union National Organizer Bimal Rathnayake.

He made this observation at a press conference held at the JVP Headquarters in Battaramulla today.

“We need to form a group of youth who fight for their rights. Socialist Youth Union is working on to build a youth movement with voluntary action”, Rathnayake said.

“The youth in our country is cheated on and abused. They have not protected properly. Their future has been taken away from them. Therefore, a group who advocates of their rights should be created”, he said, adding that without fighting for the rights they will not be won.

He further mentioned that the first steps in forming such a youth group will be taken at the third national convention of the Socialist Youth Union on 28th February, at the Sugathadasa Stadium.
