Injured Sri Lankan Diplomat In Russia Is A Ministerial Son

It has now been revealed that the Second Secretary of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Russia - who was injured following a street-brawl in Moscow - is Minister C.B. Rathnayake's son. 

Nuwan Bandara Rathnayake, an old boy of Royal College, is employed as the Second Secretary of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Russia.

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on the street in the backyard of Suvorov Hotel Don Plaza. Two drivers of the vehicle they hired demanded additional service fees from two Sri Lankan diplomats, resulting in a street brawl. A driver had shot the Second Secretary and then they had tried to flee in the car. The other staff member of the Embassy had been run over when the car tried to speed off.

Sources from Moscow, confirmed Asian Mirror that Nuwan Bandara Rathnayake's condition is not serious. 

The staff member, who was run over by the vehicle, had died yesterday. 

Although Asian Mirror attempted ton contact Minister Rathnayake on Thursday morning, his phone went unanswered.
