The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption filed a case against former SLPA Chairman Priyath Bandu Wickrama and two other officers of the authority at the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.

The other officers are R.B. Sanjaya Kumara and Nihal Kappetipola.

They are accused of using 319 employees of SLPA in Galle and Trincomalee harbours for tasks other than what is officially assigned to them and thereby causing a loss of Rs 65 million to the government. The incidents are said to have occurred between October 20, 2014, and January 7, 2015.

The three were issued notice by Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris to appear before court on May 27.
