Mahanayakes Urge President To Stop Kandy Night Races

Mahanayakes of all four chapters have sent a joint letter to the President Mahinda Rajapaksa expressing their displeasure over the 'Kandy Night Races" - which is scheduled to take place in the city of Kandy on June 27, 28 and 29.

The Mahanayakes also urge the President to take measures to stop the night races as the event would violate the 'sanctity' and the traditions of the area.
