President Sirisena should take over the Health and Higher Education Ministries for 48 hours to put things in order regarding SAITM, if the current Health and Higher Education Ministers fail to do so, GMOA Secretary Dr. Navin De Zoyza said.

At a press conference yesterday, the Government Medical Officer’s Association (GMOA) Secretary said at the very least, the President should order the Health and Higher Education Ministers to do so.

He said the issues relating to the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) could be put in order within 24 hours - not 48.

Dr. Zoyza said however that both the current and former Higher Education Ministers are clowns and that therefore there was no point in talking to them.
