Five people were taken into custody by the Sri Lanka Navy for attempting to smuggle over 15o kilogrammes of Kerala Ganja into Sri Lanka.

The five had been in a dinghy in the seas off Kankasanthurai when they were  discovered by a Navy patrol craft yesterday. 

Three people on board the dinghy were arrested, and two others connected to the drug smuggling were later arrested.

The dinghies were confiscated and the arrested men, together with the stock of ganja were handed over to the Kankasanthurai Police for further investigations.
