No Need To Panic About ‘Swine Flu’: Only Two Confirmed Deaths In Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan authorities have said there is not need to panic about the AH1N1 flu that has hit nearby Maldives severely, as there were only two confirmed AH1N1 deaths in Sri Lanka.

 

Consultant Virologist of the Epidemiology Department of the Ministry of Health told a daily newspaper that only high-risk patients – pregnant mothers, or those with chronic diabetes or immune illnesses – should be careful.

He had said that although there were several viral illnesses spreading across the country there was no reason to panic because this was to be expected during the April and May season,
