Wimal Asks Public To Hang Black Flags During Indian Premier Narendra Modi Visit

National Freedom Front (NFF) leader MP Wimal Weerawansa, addressing the crowds gathered at the ‘Joint Opposition’ (JO) May Day rally at the Galle Face green, asked that black flags are hung during Indian Premier Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka.

Weerawansa said the government was planning to sell the country to India by signing economic cooperation agreements with New Delhi.

“Modi’s not coming to Colombo to see Vesak. His visit is aimed at finalizing these agreements,” Weerawansa said, at the Joint Opposition May Day rally.

The government has maintained the position that no agreement will be signed with Modi during his visit to Sri Lanka.
