Mangala Embarks On State Media Overhaul: Key Changes At SLBC, ITN and Lake House

New Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera has embarked on a major overhaul in the state media sector, by appointing new heads to government-controlled media institutions. 

Human rights lawyer and NGO activists Sudarshana Gunawardena has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC).

Danushka Ramanayaka, who was the Working Director of the ITN before, has been appointed as the new Working Director of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. 

Journalist Wimal Katipearachchi has been appointed the new Working Director of the ITN. 

Journalist Shantha Bandara Jayawardena has been appointed the new Chairman of Selasine, an institution coming the purview of the Media Ministry. 

It is also learnt that a new board of directors will be appointed to the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL) soon.
