UNP Working Committee Adopt No-Confidence Motion Against Wijeydasa Rajapakshe: Five Point Resolution Brought Against Justice Minister

The United National Party (UNP) Working Committee and Parliamentary group yesterday unanimously adopted a no-confidence motion against Justice and Buddhasasana Minister Wijeydasa Rajapakshe.

The five-point resolution submitted by parliamentarian Ashu Marasinghe contained the following allegations against Justice and Buddhasasana Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe:

 

·  The Ministers behaviour had brought disrepute to the United National Party

·  That there is a prolonged delay in hearing of certain criminal cases

·  That the Minister had failed to bring in new laws to sufficiently tackle bribery and corruption

·  That the Minister had failed to bring in laws that would allow criminally accrued moment to be given back

·  That the Minister had failed in his duties as Justice Minister
