Railway Unions Call Off Strike Scheduled For Midnight Tonight After Meeting With Prime Minister's Secretary

September 20, 2017

Trade Unions attached to the Railway Department have called off the strike scheduled for midnight tonight.

The decision follows a meeting with the Prime Minister’s Secretary this morning.

Yesterday, railway drivers, stationmasters, guards and controller trade unions said they were prepared to launch a strike at midnight today.

The trade unions are asking that salary anomalies are rectified, among other demands.
