Upali Kodekara, Sampath Athukorale, Ajith Prasanna Summoned To Hambanthota Police Over Anti-Indian Protest

UPFA politicians Upali Kodikara, Sampath Athukorale and Ajith Prasanna have been asked to appear before the Hambanthota Police today in connection with the anti-Indian protest in Hambanthota, last Friday. 

Police sources said statements would be recorded from the MPs over their involvement in the protest which was held despite a court order. 

The protest was led by Joint Opposition MP Namal Rajapaksa. 

Police arrested 26 Joint Opposition supporters for taking part in the demonstration in violation of a court order. 

The protesters demanded the government to refrain from leasing out the Mattala International Airport to an Indian company.
