Former Colombo JMO Surrenders To Colombo Magistrate Court Over Wasim Thajudeen Murder

Former Colombo Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) Ananda Samarasekera surrendered to the Colombo Fort Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.

Professor Ananda Samarasekera, who is now retired from service, is alleged to have submitted altered postmortem reports on Thajudeen’s murder.

Wasim Thajudeen was killed on May 17, 2012 in what was purportedly an accidental car crash.

In February 2015, the government announced Thajudeen’s death was a murder not an accident and initiated investigations.
