The Colombo Fort Magistrate this morning ordered that former Navy Spokesperson Commodore D.K.P. Dassanayake is transferred from the Welisara Navy Hospital to the Welikada Prisons Hospital.

Former Navy Spokesperson D.K.P. Dassanayake was arrested on July 12 while at the Navy Camp in Welisara on charges of aiding and abetting the disappearance of 11 youth between the years 2008 and 2009.

Investigations revealed that the missing youth has been abducted from the areas of Dehiwala, Battaramulla and Wattala during the years 2008 and 2009 and taken to underground detentions cells at the Navy Camp in Welisara.

At a previous occasion, the former Navy Spokesperson had requested the court grant him permission to leave the country to attend a course, but the requested was denied by the Colombo Fort Magistrate.
