President Maithripala Sirisena and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa had a brief interaction today at the wedding of Pasanda Yapa Abeywardena, the son of State Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena. 

The two rival leaders also posed for a photograph with the newly weds. 

The wedding took place at Shangri La Hotel, Colombo, this morning (17). 

The meeting comes in the wake of the breakdown of talks between the two rival parties of the SLFP to contest the election together. 

Pasanda Yapa Abeywardena and his father are known to be supporters of President Maithripala Sirisena.
